Abstract
With the rapid development of information and communication technology,
enterprises’ original closed structure was completely broken. The traditional innovation
model can not meet the current requirement, and Living Lab precisely appears in this
context. Living Lab is a new innovation model, that characterized by co-innovation, open
innovation and user-driven innovation. Living Lab has been applied in Europe on a large
scale. Currently, Living Lab is still in its infancy in China, and did not form a complete
theoretical system. There are no systematic studys of its innovative mechanisms. This paper
aims to fill this research blank. This paper systematically comb the Living Lab concept,
objectives, principles, construction elements, organizational models and theoretical system
function theory. From the the perspective of cooperation motivation of each actor, effect
relationship between each actor, the value net and the knowledge flows,this study analyzed
the innovation mechanism in a Living Lab system. In addition, this paper selects six
European Living Lab innovation projects as cases and analysis them from a comparative
perspective about their participants, value flows, the level of collaboration, value creation,
development potential and so on. Basis on these studies, this paper constructs a dynamic
model of cooperative innovation based on Living Lab approach in order to guide
enterprises’innovation activities.
