Abstract
Hongqiao district is located in the northwest of central Tianjin.Tianjin urban
development plans published in 2009, implemented the strategy of central urban
district：one main and two subs. Most of the West Station Sub-CBD is located in
Hongqiao district. The construction of West Station Sub-CBD could
have a huge impact on regional economic and social development. Significance of
construction in sub-CBD will not only the change of urban morphology and
infrastructure, but also evolve the unban functions and gathered elements are very
important. By analyzing the typical domestic and international experience of the
construction of the Sub-CBD, the paper discusses the general rules of Sub-CBD
construction. Integrated Hongqiao's development actuality and some Sub-CBDs
development experiences, the paper explores some system innovation. Focus on the
construction characteristics and the influence on regional economy, including
speed-rail-economic impact on the regional spatial structure and urban economy, the
Sub-CBD impact on Tianjin urban spatial structure and district position in regional
economy development. The paper also points out Hongqiao district and surrounding
areas how to cooperate on developing regional economies. Under Sub-CBD
construction, Hongqiao should make full use of ecology, culture, location, land
resources and other advantages achieve goal of upgrading industry. Bringing into play
the function of the Sub-CBD’s factor congregation.Finally, practical build Hongqiao
into an universal Sub-CBD of Tianjin, modem commercial urban industry base and
harmonious livable cultural ecological city.
