Sikkim is home to around 5,000 species of flowering plants, 515 rare orchids, 60 primula species & 36rhododendron species. This makes it one of the leading states in the Northeast region in terms of production &supply of cut flowers to mainland consumer markets.Strong floriculturesectorStrong potential ofmedicinal plantsindustrySikkim has mighty snow-capped peaks including the Kanchenjunga, the world’s 3rd highest peak, whichattracts a large number of tourists from across the globe.Presence of world’sthird highest peakThe state is considered as a huge cardamom epicentre of the world, producing around 80 per cent of largecardamom in the country.
