:创新是企业在激烈竞争的市场中立于不败之地的核心要素, 是企业保持竞争优势的关键方式。董事会作为公司的高层决策机构, 是公司治理的核心,承载着战略制定、提供创新方案及获取外部信息 等职能,直接影响到企业创新战略及运营决策的制定。在创新的过程 中,董事会作出的决策受其思维方式、性格特征及行为习惯等因素影 响,溯其根源,根源地文化对人的影响最为根深蒂固。因此,如何从 成员地域文化背景的差异性特征探究董事会对企业技术创新的影响 效应及作用机制,从而有效促进企业技术创新至关重要。 文章通过RESSET数据库、CSMAR数据库和巨潮资讯网等,收 集了沪深两市561家制造业A股主板市场上市公司2013年至2017年 董事会成员特征数据以及相关的企业财务数据作为研究样本,基于成 员地域差异的视角,构建董事会地域文化多样性、企业研发投入、研 发产出及研发效率等变量。结合高阶理论、社会认同理论、团队冲突 理论、创新资源理论及成本粘性理论等,经过大量的文献阅读后提出 研究假设,并构建多元回归模型,利用Stata15分别对研究假设进行 实证检验。验证董事会地域文化多样性对企业技术创新投入、产出及 效率的影响,以及相关影响在不同情景,如董事会成员的平均受教育 程度、企业的所有权性质及企业所在地区的发达程度下会发生如何变 化。研究结果显示:董事会地域文化多样性尽管提升了企业的研发投 入强度,但在研发产出和研究效率方面表现出一定程度的抑制效应; 另外,董事会地域文化多样性带来的这种抑制效应在董事会成员高平 均学历情景下会被进一步强化,而在民营企业或者发达地区情景下则 董事会地域文化多样性对企业技术创新的影响研究 ——基于中国制造业上市公司的实证研究 III 有所减弱。 根据以上结论,本研究认为董事会成员地域文化多样性可能导致 企业决策冲突、过度投资、资源配置的低效以及企业能力过载等现象, 在资源有限的约束下,给企业的创新产出和创新效率可能带来不利的 影响。这意味着多样性确实可能导致资源配置效率的降低,这一结果 无疑对于董事会多样性的研究具有重要的启发意义。研究结果从文化 视角探索董事会特征对企业技术创新影响效应及作用机制,不仅利于 厘清文化对企业技术创新的影响机制及相关效应,而且对丰富和发展 当前基于高阶理论的企业创新研究,亦具较高的理论价值和实际意 义。 关键词:董事会;地域文化;董事会文化多样性;技术创新 IV RESEARCH ON THE INFLUENCE MECHANISM OF BOARD REGIONAL CULTURAL DIVERSITY ON ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION ——AN EMPIRICAL STUDY BASED ON CHINESE MANUFACTURING LISTED COMPANIES Ge Yan (Business Management) Directed by Xie Hefeng Abstract:Innovation is the core element of an enterprise's invincibility in a fiercely competitive market, and it is a key way for an enterprise to maintain its competitive advantage. The board of directors, as the company's high-level decision-making body, is the core of corporate governance. It carries the functions of strategy formulation, providing innovative solutions, and obtaining external information, which directly affect the formulation of corporate innovation strategies and operational decisions. In the process of innovation, the decisions made by the board of directors are affected by factors such as their way of thinking, personality characteristics, and behavioral habits. They trace their roots, and the root culture has the most ingrained influence on people. Therefore, how to explore the effect and mechanism of the board of directors on the technological innovation of the company from the different characteristics of the regional cultural background of the members, so as to effectively promote the technological innovation of the company is of vital importance. V Through the RESSET database, CSMAR database, and Juchao Information Network, the characteristics of board members and related corporate financial data of 561 listed companies in the 561 manufacturing A-share main board markets of Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2013 to 2017 were collected as research samples. From the perspective of members 'regional differences, construct the board of directors' regional cultural diversity, corporate R & D investment, R & D output, and R & D efficiency. Combining high-level theory, social identity theory, team conflict theory, innovation resource theory, and cost stickiness theory, etc., after a large amount of literature reading, put forward research hypotheses, and construct a multiple regression model. Use Stata15 to conduct empirical tests on the research hypotheses. Verify the impact of the board's regional cultural diversity on the company's technological innovation input, output, and efficiency, and how the relevant impact will occur in different scenarios, such as the average education level of board members, the nature of the company's ownership, and the level of development of the company's region Variety. The research results show that although the regional cultural diversity of the board of directors has increased the intensity of R & D investment of enterprises, it has shown a certain degree of inhibitory effects in terms of research and development output and research efficiency. In addition, the inhibitory effect of regional cultural diversity of the board of directors has Board members VI will be further strengthened in the case of high average education, but weakened in the case of private enterprises or developed regions. Based on the above conclusions, this study believes that the regional cultural diversity of board members may lead to corporate decision conflicts, over-investment, inefficient allocation of resources, and overloading of corporate capabilities. Under the constraints of limited resources, the company's innovation output and innovation efficiency May have adverse effects. This means that diversity may indeed lead to a decrease in the efficiency of resource allocation. This result is undoubtedly of great significance for the study of board diversity. The research results explore the effect of the characteristics of the board of directors on corporate technological innovation and its mechanism from a cultural perspective. Not only is it helpful to clarify the impact mechanism and related effects of culture on corporate technological innovation, but it also enriches and develops current research on corporate innovation based on advanced theory.
