Study on the development strategy of I software company
Abstract
In recent years, China's software industry has been growing steadily and rapidly, and the
number of software copyright registration has exceeded one million and achieved an annual
growth of about 50%. From the perspective of industrial scale, the development of the
software industry has undoubtedly made remarkable achievements, including the number of
software enterprises and the number of software talents. As the first national software industry
campus, Dalian, where Company I located, is one of the cities with the fastest development in
China. The first-class construction level of Dalian Software Park provides good environment
for the development of software enterprises in Dalian, and breeds a number of company with
competitiveness. The aggregation effect and scale utility are prominent. However, due to the
rising labor cost, and reduce in outsourcing work from oversea, those software companies,
focus on Japanese outsourcing, are facing the challenges. Especially many small and medium
size software companies, suffered by single profit model, are difficult to survive.
Based on the enterprise development strategy and business model innovation, innovation
management related theory, through analysis on Company I’s current issues, PEST analysis of
the macro environment, the five model analysis on the industry environment, as well as SWOT
strategic analysis tools, illuminates the company needs to speed up the research and
development (“R&D”), and innovation on products. The company has formulated the strategy,
which means focus on R&D, and supported by business model innovation and new market
development. Follow the market trend, develop software products independently, step by step.
Also, leverage parent company's experience and external open platform, positioning in the field
of configuration software, and innovating in the business model.
Finally, in the strategy implementation and sustain, the establishment of innovative
corporate culture and appropriate organizational structure, as well as the improvement of
research and development process and system are discussed and defined to ensure the smooth
progress of product research and development innovation. Hence, the enterprise to establish
sustainable competitive advantages, gradually build up the new core competitiveness of the
company, to achieve leapfrog development. Meanwhile, through the research of this thesis, it
could provide some reference to similar software outsourcing company located in Dalian.
