At that time the site is far from the core of the city. In 1950s the city developed to the north side of the river. But the developmen of the site was affected by the river flood. 宁波古城依托余姚江而建，位于三江 交汇处，历史上由城墙包围，湾头区域 位于城市远郊，远离发展中心。 19世纪50年代的宁波通过纵横延伸的 交通干线发展至江北老外滩一带。江 河泛滥导致湾头区域发展缓慢。 The relocation of the river in 1959 reduced the effect of flood, and gave great opportunity to the site. In the future, the site is part of the 8-shape develop loop of the Ningbo city. 1959年姚江改道，城市往西北侧发展。 改道后的姚江不再泛滥，湾头地块迎 来长远发展的机遇。 展望未来，城市的发展将更多的结合 景观，湾头地块将成为宁波城区的8字 发展环的北端拼图。 。。。以下略
