Background Information
Joseph Heller (1923-1999): an American novelist from New York, best known for his 1961 novel Catch-22, an anti-war satire based on the author s own millitary experience. Heller s other novels include: Something Happened {出了 毛病》(1974) ,Good as Gold([像髙尔德一样好》
(1979) .God Know^l984) Ricture This(1988), and a sequel toCatch-22, Closing Time(1994).
