The Competitive Strategy Study & Proposal for New Energy
Automobile Industry
——Based on New Energy Automobile Business of B Company
Abstract
With the increasing pressure of crude oil shortage, air pollution, climate warming etc.,
environmental awareness had been rooted in more and more people’s minds. The
traditional automobile industry is facing intense challenge while the new energy vehicles
industry is getting more and more attention of governments. In order to attain the
competitive advantages in new round of automobile revolution, governments had applied
policies respectively to support the development of new energy vehicles industry. China
had started the research and development of new energy vehicles since 1991, and had
formulated different policies in different stages to encourage the development of new
energy vehicles. At present, China ranks No.1 in new energy vehicles’ producing and
selling. And at the same time, many Chinese vehicle companies like BYD, BAIC and
Geely are among the top ten new energy vehicles companies. New energy vehicles
industry in China had made some progresses in the past few years and is stepping into
acceleration period now. Here after is the structure of this paper: Firstly, in order to
determine the research orientation of this thesis, the writer had studied related essays to
understand the current status of new energy vehicles both domestically and internationally,
and summarizes the current research achievements and deficiencies; Secondly, through
studying related theories of the current development situation of new energy vehicles
industry in China,the writer puts forward the main existed problems, opportunities and
challenges of the new energy vehicle industry ; Thirdly, analyze B Company’s competitive
strategy of new energy vehicle by applying PEST and SWOT methods. We find out the
shortcomings in B Company’s competitive strategy then we give advice in making
progress; Finally, through studying the former experiences and the current development
